Methodder CCTV Attendance
Attendance for a 250-seat hall. Nobody lifts a finger.
Two ceiling cameras sweep the hall during class, a small computer on campus recognises faces, and only the list of present students is sent to Methodder.

Methodder CCTV Attendance is a CCTV-based attendance system for large lecture halls. Pan-tilt-zoom cameras mounted at the front of the hall move between presets during class, covering the near rows on their own side and then the far rows on the opposite side, and capture sharp frames of every seat.
A compact computer inside the hall recognises faces locally using its built-in graphics. Video and face data never leave the campus; only the IDs of recognised students are sent to Methodder over a secure connection, and attendance appears against the scheduled class in the LMS.
Sweeps repeat at a configurable interval, so attendance reflects the whole lecture rather than a roll call at the start. If the internet drops, recognition continues on campus and results are sent when the connection returns. Every installation is planned around the room's size and layout.

What CCTV Attendance does
PTZ cameras with 30x optical zoom
Full HD pan-tilt-zoom cameras reach every row of a 100-foot hall.
Cross-fire coverage
Cameras cover opposite quadrants, so students blocking each other are seen from another angle.
Edge processing
Recognition runs on a computer in the hall: no cloud video processing, no per-frame fees.
Privacy by design
Video and face data stay on campus; only attendance results leave the room.
Wireless bridge
Cameras connect over a dedicated 5 GHz link, without long cable runs through the hall.
Keeps working offline
If the internet drops, results queue locally and are sent when it returns.
For medical colleges
Designed for large lecture halls
- Typically two cameras cover a 100-foot hall seating 200–250 students
- Sweep interval is configurable to match lecture length
- No change to how the lecture runs: no queues, no roll call
- Works alongside the face attendance device for smaller rooms
Questions colleges ask us
Didn't find your question? We are happy to walk you through it on a call.
Ask us anythingIs classroom video sent to the cloud?
No. Frames are processed on a computer inside the hall. Only the IDs of recognised students are sent to Methodder.
How many cameras does a hall need?
A 100-foot hall seating 200–250 students is typically covered by two cameras. We size every installation after seeing the room.
How often is attendance taken?
Sweeps run at a configurable interval, for example every 15 minutes, so attendance reflects the whole class, not just the start.
What does it cost?
It depends on the hall size and layout. Request a quote and we will plan the installation with you.
What happens if the internet is down?
Recognition continues on campus and the results are sent once the connection returns.
